Synopsis for "Meet the Captain!, Chapter Six"

Freddy, much to the shock of Billy, has offered to be the gods' champion. However, this is just a ploy from Freddy to buy time so that his backup can save Billy. He even tells Billy to fight him so that the gods are convinced that his reaction is genuine. He tells Billy that Mercury has found a way to freely distribute the gods' powers so that Billy doesn't have to the gods' slave anymore, but Billy reminds him that only the Wizard can do that, meaning that Freddy was deceived.

The gods catch up to Freddy's ploy and barely have time to react when Billy's family and the saurian lawyer, armed with weapons from the Rock of Eternity, attack them. During the fight, Billy incapacitates Achilles by hitting his heel, the dinosaur traps Atlas in his bottomless briefcase and Eugene uses a wand to transform Zeus into duck, much to the amusement of everyone present. The transformation is brief, however, and Zeus furiously continues the fight.

Billy notices that Solomon isn't partaking in the fight and follows him to a secluded part of the Rock. Solomon admits that they have been using the Captain to remind mortals of the gods' existence but their emotions have twisted the Captain. Billy tells the remorseful Solomon that he can still fix this, but Solomon says that he is not a god and thus, he can't fight the other gods that empower the Captain. Even so, Solomon is smarter than the gods and he can use that to his advantage. Billy asks Solomon to increase Shazam's wisdom, but Solomon warns him that such an action will come at a cost. Billy's transformations will become more drastic as time goes by, and Billy's dual identities are becoming more separate from each other. Even now, Billy refers to Shazam as "him" rather than "me". Billy reluctantly accepts the price and says the magic word.

Shazam emerges from the shadows and stops the fight between mortals and gods. He tells the assembled gods that it is true that mortals have forgotten the gods, but at the same time, gods do not understand mortals on a fundamental level. They used to be benevolent, but now, they demand respect without actually doing anything. Worse, the gods' attempts to control Shazam has only convinced mortals that gods are inherently petty and ridiculous. In Shazam's words, if gods want to earn mortals' respect, they must earn it through good, helpful deeds. The gods agree to consider Shazam's proposal and cease hostilities with Shazam.

Sometime later, Shazam and his friends have returns to the Rock of Eternity. The saurian lawyer, fascinated by the relics and artifacts, considers the possibility of becoming the Rock's caretaker and Shazam gives him the job, but the saurian says that it's not that simple. His superiors, the Auditors, are displeased that the lawyer has fallen behind on his paperwork and are en route to Earth.

True to the lawyer's words, the Auditors' ship have reached the Earth's orbit. Its crew is anxious to meet Shazam and question him about his actions, but the ship is suddenly stopped by Black Adam, who furiously demands to know who the Auditors are and what are they doing on Earth.
