The Wizard Shazam is the benefactor of the Shazam Family.

History

Mamaragan was a citizen of Kahndaq. After escaping the kingdom, he ascended to godhood, becoming the God of Thunder. He returned to Kahndaq and empowered Prince Teth-Adam and he became Mamaragan's champion, Mighty Adam. When Adam became mad with power, he was rebranded Black Adam and the Wizard locked him away. Centuries later, Black Adam was freed by Dr. Sivana. In response, the Wizard picked a new champion, Billy Batson to stop him. He would go on to also empower Billy's foster sister, Mary Bromfield.
