Synopsis for "When the Symbioship Strikes!"
Power Girl is attacked by the Symbioship, the spacecraft that carried Power Girl to Earth. Seeking to join with her to become "complete", the ship possesses Andrew Vinson and goes to extreme measures, only to be defeated when it can't discern illusion from reality. Meanwhile, Brain Wave plots against the JSA.

Notes
- Power Girl gains her Kryptonian birth name (Kara Zor-L), in this issue. Prior to this issue, no one ever called her anything other than "Power Girl" (along with "kid" and "Girly").
- Power Girl's origin is identical to Superman's in the Adventures of Superman radio show. In that adaptation, Superman left Krypton as a baby, but arrived as an adult, having aged during the long trip to Earth.
