Sinestra is the founder of the splinter group Green Lantern Core on Earth 11.
History
Sinestra led the Core in wiping out their more moderate comrades when the Star Sapphire Sorority attempted to unite the Corps, including Hal Ferris. The Core then attacked the Star Sapphires' home planet Domus Amoris and laid a trap that would later strand the Justice Guild in an alternate dimension when they investigated. However, the Central Battery was destroyed, forcing the Core to find alternate ways to charge their rings.[1]
Heading to Earth, Sinestra masqueraded as "Sister Blood" leading the Church of Blood. While ostensibly to provide home for the disadvantaged, it was in actuality a way to harvest energy. [2] Planning to drain the life energy of countless innocents, the Core sought to use wristbands connected to Kilowog's machine, which they tested on the nation of Zandia. The adult population was aged to death, while the children were turned decrepit.[3]
When Wonder Boy investigated the Church, he was captured after finding that the "washout" initiates were strapped to the machine to be harvested. The rest of Teen Justice came to save him, and were almost overwhelmed until Raven teleported them out. However, in the fight, Kyle DeWitt killed Demi, a cultist who Sinestra planned to turn into the Darkstar.[4] Chastising him, cultist Georgia Gardner found them out, leading to Sinestra commanding Ch'ppolyta to capture her. When Teen Justice arrived, another fight broke out, with Kid Quick removing all the wristbands. However, Sinestra then forced the bands onto them and began draining their life energy, only being stopped thanks to Raven sacrificing himself.[5] Kid Quick brought the rest of Teen Justice away before returning to avenge Raven's death. Sinestra incapacitated Kid Quick, only for Teen Justice to return in Wonder Boy's invisible jet. Unwilling to see the Core be beaten again, she betrayed them by taking their rings and life energies for herself. However, she was defeated by Georgia, wielding Hal's ring and using constructs fueled by the anger of the slaughtered Green Lanterns. It was at that moment the Justice Guild returned from the pocket dimension, with Star Sapphire taking Sinestra to forcefully repent for her crimes[6]
