Siren (disambiguation)

Siren is a name used by several villains in the DC Universe. The original was Hila, twin sister to Aquaman's wife Mera. She is the leader of a death squad sent by Aquaman's enemies in Xebel to assassinate him. The second Siren was a mermaid who became an eco-terrorist. This made her an enemy to the Titans, and Vandal Savage recruited her to his group Tartarus.

The name alludes to the Sirens of Greek mythology, sea creatures that seduced sailors with their melodious voices only to then kill them.

Siren was created by Nick Cardy, first appearing in Aquaman #22 (1965).
