Sky Alchesay is a young Native American woman who can speak to the dead.

She lives in the reservations of Arizona with her grandmother and her brother. She had lived with her mother as well until she was killed by their uncle, Skinwalker. Her mother speaks to her from beyond the graves and tells her of others who will come to aid Sky in finding out the truth about her mother's murder and a dark secret about their family.

Powers

  • Necromancy: Sky can speak to the spirits of those residing within a realm known as the Ghost Lands. Their spectral forms may appear in front of her while on Earth, invisible to others.[1]
  • Precognition: To a certain degree, Sky can foresee future events.[1]
  • Energy Projection: Sky once used a blast of energy to repel enemies.[1]
  • Dimensional Travel: Sky can open a portal to the Ghost Lands in order to move her and the Others around, starting at one location on Earth and arriving at another. She cannot, however, travel to anywhere she wants instantly; she must either rely on natural conduits between points or spend a significant amount of time creating one. Sky can also freely wander through the Ghost Lands and commune with the spirits within without using the realm as an in-between point for travel across Earth. Inside the Ghost Lands, Sky can manipulate the effects of gravity, destabilizing it so that enemies who enter alongside her uncontrollably float through the space, unless Sky releases them back to Earth.[2][3][4]
  • Energy Transference: Sky can tap into the Ghost Lands and request energy from its residents that she can fuel into others to enhance their own mystical abilities.[2]

Abilities

  • Shamanism: Sky has described herself as a sort of "shaman," due to her unusual abilities.

Equipment

  • Seal of Clarity: The Seal is one of seven treasures belonging to the ancient Atlanteans. It once belonged to Kahina, but was retrieved by Aquaman after her death.
    • Multilingualism: The Seal of Clarity allows the reader to decipher and understand texts in languages besides those they natively know.


  • In her debut appearance, Sky Alchesay demonstrated the ability to project an energy blast from her hands. She does not, however, use this ability in later appearances.
