The Sky Pirates were an all female group of murderous thieving plane pilots publicly led by the only man in their group, "Captain Redbeard," thought they were secretly actually led by his wife "Nifty".
History
Nifty had the Sky Pirates target Prof. Chemico of Holliday College while he was doing Nuclear energy research, stealing materials and kidnapping the Professor to try and force him to tell them the contents of his research for them to sell. They were stopped by Wonder Woman, but just after she had them defeated the Time Monster Nifty played host to whisked the Pirates away to the Golden Age of Pirates before they could be handed in to authorities. The pursuing Holliday Girls were dragged along as well and the fight between the two groups resumed, and was then moved once more in time to Ancient Rome after the Pirates were defeated again. Wonder Woman was able to catch all the combatants and return them to the proper time using Paula's Space Transformer. Once the Sky Pirates were properly secured they were turned over to authorities, with Nifty being taken to Reformation Island.
