Synopsis for The Jester: "The Joke is on the Racketeers"

John McMurry Spencer joins the force, and his first assignment is to transfer the notorious Stoneface to a new prison. The criminal escapes by pretending to need to tie his shoe, then suddenly headbutting Spencer and running off. Spencer tries to turn in his resignation, but Chuck Lane switches into his Jester togs and convinces Spencer that since it was his job to escort Stoneface, it's his job to recapture him. Jester leads the way to a dive bar run by Stoneface's #2 man, since that's probably where he'll hide out. The proprietor refuses to let them in without a warrant, but the Jester slips through a window and makes him yell for help out of reflex, nullifying the need for one. The Jester points out a bunch of code violations, which gets the proprietor to call in his underlings to silence the nosy hero, but they're fought off until Stoneface shows up. The escaped con is infuriated by the Jester laughing at him, and gets so mad Spencer easily overcomes him, and then hauls in his former prisoner and the hole gang, redeeming himself.
