After using the Oedipus Crown to blind Orion,Arnicus Wolfram's mercenaries used the Smite-Sticks to drain Orion's life force and finally capture him.
Capabilities
Besides to be used to hold a person,the sticks are also capable to draining a person's life force to incapacitates or kills them. Against enemies at Orion level it's necessary to use more than one [1].
