Socko Strong was a professional boxer in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Socko Strong was more famous as a boxer than as a detective, but he did solve a lot of crimes in his day. His best friend was Jerry Indutch, a photographer for the Daily Chronicle.

Socko and Jerry began their adventuring careers by getting shanghaied to the South Seas, where they discovered an uncharted volcanic island, populated by mesozoic animal life.[1]

After returning stateside, Socko's boxing career brought him into contact with an assortment of gamblers, gangsters, and other lowlifes, many of whom he ended up beating up and sending to jail. One truly dangerous adversary stood out from that lot, the invisible terrorist known as The Great I.
