Sol is the artificial intelligence which controls Superman's armour.

History

Before Krypton met its final fate, Lara Lor-Van was working on modifying a spacesuit that she designed when she was 12, combining Sunstone and an A.I. named Sol, in the hope to save her family, and as many friends she can as possible. The suits are parts of the spaceship's system that Lara and Jor-El built together, once completing the bonding process, theoretically, the suit should protect the wearer.

Sol serves as Kal-El's caretaker on Earth, as well as his battle assistance during conflicts if he chooses to take. Sol doesn't, however, encourage Kal to engage in fights, as his original program was to preserve the last son of Krypton. Sol can dispatch solar panel to help collecting solar energy from Earth's yellow sun to recharge Superman's body when he is drained.
