The Somme is a river in Northern France, though it has also been used to describe the region around it.
History
It was the site of a bloody battle during World War I. It was also the first time that British soldiers used their new-invented tanks against the German army, which ended in the complete extermination of the Uhlans and their leader, colonel Graf von Munster.[1]
There were many casualties on both sides, including William Constantine, grandfather of John Constantine who perished at the hands of the King of the Vampires.[2]
