Synopsis for "Witless for the Prosecution"
It's hit all the local papers: Ambush Bug has been arrested! Representing him in a court of law is none other than Two-Face, who tries to defend him on charges of "Contempt to Comics", however his dual personality works against Ambush Bug and he is found guilty of the charges and is locked back up to await sentencing.
The story is then interrupted by fill in pencils by artist Steve Bissette who takes the story in a completely different direction: getting a phone call Ambush Bug learns that Cheeks is being held hostage and travels to the island that time forgot armed to the teeth with automatic weapons to fight the dinosaurs that live there. He ends up meeting Gorilla Grodd who tells him that Cheeks is somewhere on the island. Suddenly, Titano bursts through the roof of the temple they are in revealing that he has Cheeks (dressed up as Lois Lane) as his hostage. Ambush Bug wakes up and realizes that it was all a dream until he turns on the television and finds that everyone on TV are apes.
After a segue for Combat Cheeks hunting Nazi's with TNT, Giffen cuts back to Ambush Bug in prison. He is brought to court once more through the powers of the Interferer and the trail concludes. The judge finds Ambush Bug guilty of Contempt to Comics and is sentenced to INKarceration and has a bunch of ink dumped on him.
