Spartan: Warrior Spirit (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1995.
Synopsis for "Warrior Spirit, Part 2"
Days after his arrival, Spartan continues to lead local villagers against Gamorran Hunter-Killer attacks. During the latest assault, he recalls linking with Dr. Able's computer system to learn the nature of the scientist's experiments only to be violently repelled. Nor would Allison provide any answers. After defeating the Gamorrans, Spartan observes the locals performing the ritual of Tankasvara. Allison joins him, and he explains that Tankasvara was a legendary warrior who trapped the evil Soul Devourer underground at the cost of his own life. The temple in which Dr. Able and his supporters live is supposedly built atop the Soul Devourer's prison, and the villagers have come to believe Spartan is a reincarnation of Tankasvara. Suddenly, the Gamorrans attack again. At Halo in New York, Void is able to track Spartan, and the WildC.A.T.s prepare to retrieve him. Back in Tibet, Spartan analyzes the Gamorrans' knowledge of the local terrain and deduces that they used to work with Able. This realization leaves him distracted long enough for a Hunter-Killer to destroy him. Spartan again awakens in a new body and finds himself held at gunpoint by Dr. Able's men.
