Synopsis for "Final Fate"

The Spectre arrives in the alley where the Reaver (Daniel Geller) is attacking Amy Beitermann. The Reaver runs away, leaving her lying in a pool of her own blood. She begs the Spectre to stay, but he believes he must punish the Reaver and leaves her there. A short time later, Lt. Nate Kane arrives in the alley and is horrified to see her just lying there.

Meanwhile, the Spectre catches up to the Reaver. He tells the Spectre that he hasn't done anything wrong; he was sent to do what he did. The Spectre remembers Amy's request that he should understand evil and he enters the Reaver's soul in order to truly understand his sins. While inside the Reaver's soul, the Spectre realizes that the killer believes that women are the source of all corruption. The Spectre forces him to live the lives of the women he murdered.

In the alley, Amy is near death. She asks Lt. Kane to hold her, but he is afraid to touch her, as she is very bloody and HIV-positive. She begs him not to leave her alone, but he does, vowing to search for the Reaver. Madame Xanadu then arrives and consoles Amy.

Lt. Kane finds the Reaver, who is kneeling motionless because the Spectre is still inside him. Within his soul, the Reaver understands his sins. But at that moment, Lt. Kane shoots him in the head. The Lt. then rushes to the hospital to see how Amy is doing. Madame Xanadu informs him that Amy is dead. He goes to look at her body and finds Jim Corrigan standing beside it. He begs Jim to bring her back, so Jim enters her soul. He is able to reach Amy as she is ascending to Heaven. She says, "Something glorious waits and I want to go to it. You're not going to try to bring me back like you did Clarice, are you?" The Spectre says he only came to say goodbye. She tells Jim there's a place waiting for him, too, and she'll be waiting for him. She kisses him, and he leaves her body.

Lt. Kane is furious at the Spectre for not bringing Amy back to life, and he vows to get back at him. The Spectre leaves the hospital, hovers above the city, and weeps.
