Spider Man was an enemy of Captain Marvel.
History
Spider Man was an inventor who used his invention for crime. He developed a liquid plastic that hardened quickly once exposed to air, and became incredibly sticky. He used a suit coated in rosin to negate the effects for himself.
For his first big heist, he planned to steal a gold transport to Fort Knox. He captured the plane's pilots and had his henchmen impersonate them, but he had not counted on cub reporter Billy Batson being there for a special feature for WHIZ Radio. Spider Man got away, but his plan was foiled. He stuck to smaller jobs, like petty robbery and money trucks. He got away with some crimes before Captain Marvel caught up to him again.
Realizing he needed to get rid of Captain Marvel, he captured Billy Batson and planned to have his pet tarantula bite him. Billy got enough of his mouth free from the web to summon Captain Marvel and easily apprehended the villain.[1]

- This version of Spider Man, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
