Spol of Cyc is the Green Lantern of Sector 47.
History
Origin
With the death of Sector 47's previous Green Lantern, Ard Rennat of Cyc, the Guardians of the Universe called upon Spol of Cyc to assume those responsibilities. Spol was assigned the task of preventing the inhabitants of Zintha from altering their world's orbital path.[1] After traveling to the planet to negotiate a settlement he met Lysandra, a fellow Green Lantern. Because Spol did not understand the reason the Guardians chose two Green Lanterns for a single sector Lysandra explained her unique situation. In the last moment of his life, Ard Rennat chose Lysandra of Zintha as his successor but due to her religious beliefs, Lysandra could not leave her world. Understanding her dilemma, the Guardians allowed her to be the Green Lantern for Zintha alone.[2]
Spol worked with Lysandra to resolve a problem facing the Zinthians--they believed their sun would soon go nova and they also believed it would be blasphemous to leave their planet. Lysandra's solution was to move the planet by focusing the wills of the populace through her power battery. After explaining to Lysandra that the star was a living being about to give birth the two prevented the Zinthian population from altering the orbit of the planet, which would have been fatal to the star.
After the success of his first mission, Spol told Lysandra the true history of her world. Thar, the Zinthian's god, was actually the living star. Eons ago, after a space war killed most of Lysandra's race, her people swore to avoid future war by never again traveling to the stars. Thar had invited them to live on Zintha.[2]

Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
