Spy Smasher is Alan Armstrong, a legacy hero working for the government who fights to protect American interests. During World War II he fought against Nazis behind enemy lines, and then took the name Crime Smasher when the war was over. He has also been a member of the Squadron of Justice. His modern-day successor is Katarina Armstrong, an anti-terrorism agent who has worked for several branches of the U.S. Government. Spy Smasher was created by C.C. Beck and Bill Parker, originally published by Fawcett Comics in Whiz Comics #2. (1940)
