Synopsis for "America Beware"

Spy Smasher is on an espionage mission in German-controlled France but is caught by Gestapo, tortured and seemingly executed by firing squad. However a sympathetic officer surreptitiously switched the bullets with blanks and arranges to ship the hero back to the United States. Meanwhile, a Gestapo officer becomes worried Spy Smasher may have already relayed the information he was looking for, of an Axis plot to flood America with counterfeit money. He travels to America to warn the agent overseeing the operation, the Mask.

While traveling on a train the Gestapo officer panics when he sees Spy Smasher alive and in civilian garb. A fight breaks out that ends when the real Spy Smasher intervenes and throws the Gestapo from the train to his death. The lookalike is Jack Armstrong, Spy Smasher's twin brother. The two join forces to foil the counterfeiting plot. They pay a visit to Admiral Corby (father of Jack's fiancee, Eve), just in time to interrupt Axis agents trying to rob the Corby household. Spy Smasher fights them off, and finds out they were trying to steal mine charts for Shark Bay. Jack confides to his brother there's nothing of strategic importance there, and Spy Smasher divines an out-of-the-way place like that would be an ideal spot to make an undetected landing for them to smuggle in their counterfeit currency.

He and Jack head there and interrupt the smugglers, who get away by throwing a fishing net that tangles the motor of their boat. Spy Smasher finds a discarded cigar wrapper and determines from it that the enemy agents hang out at the Acme Cafe. He goes there himself and finds a secret entrance to an underground hideout in the phone booth. Spy Smasher uses the phone to call Admiral Corby, who sends agents to raid the cafe. The raid prompts the enemy agents to flee. Spy Smasher pursues, but they ignite a fuel tank that fills the tunnel with flames as the hero tries to escape.
