Synopsis for "Descending Doom"
Spy Smasher had seen off his opponent and bailed out before the bat plane crashed.
Drake the TV reporter covers the story of Spy Smasher saving the bomb sight and destroying the spies' bat plane, which the Corbys point out will make him a national hero. The Mask orders Drake to capture Admiral Corby and grill him to find out Spy Smasher's true identity. An enemy agent calls the admiral and pretends to be Spy Smasher to set up a meeting where they can discuss something of great importance. Eve tells Jack where her father's gone, which he relays to the real Spy Smasher, who set up no such meeting. Meanwhile, the Mask's agents knock out Corby with a fake lighter that squirts knock-out gas while pretending to give him a light, and Spy Smasher chases the kidnappers. Spy Smasher gets bumped off the road by the spies and knocked out, and they bring him with them.
The hero regains consciousness at their hideout and a shootout erupts. To avoid being trapped between two enemies coming from different sides, Spy Smasher ducks into a doorway that turns out to be an elevator shaft. He survives the fall unharmed, but knocks himself out again. The spies send the car down the shaft to crush the helpless Spy Smasher.
