Spy Smasher. It premiered in 1942.
Synopsis for "Iron Coffin"
Spy Smasher had switched jackets and hats with a German soldier he'd been fighting with, and the soldier became the unwitting victim of friendly fire.
After escaping, Spy Smasher and Durand go to the governor to warn him about the counterfeiters. However, the governor's also a member of the German conspiracy, and opens a trap door that drops the two into a torture chamber. When he comes down to kill them, Spy Smasher uses a bullwhip to disarm him, and then climb out after they force the crooked governor to tell them where the counterfeiters are hiding. Spy Smasher and Durand attack the barn, which blows up after a shootout. The survivors confess where they were going to make another delivery of bogus money.
Spy Smasher and Durand go there and board the Mask's submarine. They take command of the vessel and force the crew to sail to the United States. Once they've almost arrive, the Germans launch a successful surprise attack, and knock Spy Smasher and Durand into the torpedo room. The Mask orders the room flooded to drown them.
