Spy Smasher was published by Fawcett Publications from 1941 until 1943. Spy Smasher was actually Alan Armstrong, a gadget oriented secret agent created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. Following a lawsuit in 1953, Spy Smasher became the property of National Periodical Publications (the future DC Comics). He appeared irregularly during the Pre-Crisis Shazam revival projects, but became a steadfast supporting cast member in the 1990s with the title, The Power of Shazam!.
