Staphis was a planet located in Sector 2682. It was home to a species of sentient beetle-like aliens.
History
One of Staphis's lava seas began to rise due to instability in the planet's atmosphere, threatening to destroy one of the natives' cities. The sector's Green Lantern, Vath Sarn, arrived to prevent the destruction of the city. He was distracted, however, by the recent disappearance of his partner, Isamot Kol, and as soon as help arrived in the form of three other Lanterns from different sectors, he left them in charge to search for Isamot.
