Synopsis for Robin: "Stone-Deaf Robin!"
A thug by the name of Fixer Bannon approaches Dick Grayson and throws a grenade at him. Bannon is sure that Grayson is really Robin. The grenade lands and explodes inside a nearby trash can shielding Grayson from serious injury. Robin is ok but he temporarily loses his hearing for a period of 48-72 hours. In the meantime, the newspapers report the details of Graysons attack. They report that Grayson is temporarily deaf and this detail is picked up by Fixer Bannon himself. Bannon reasons that if Grayson is deaf so is Robin. Dick Grayson also makes the same conclusion and he realizes that he must hide his deafness to protect his identity as Robin. He is summoned by commissioner Gordon where Robin displays his excellent lip reading abilities to communicate with Gordon. The commissioner informs Robin that Bannon was last seen near the Budd Museum Warehouse. Robin rushes to the dark warehouse where Bannon lays in wait with a gun. As Robin approaches, Bannon fires a couple of shots. Surprisingly Robin is able to detect the two shots. Bannon fires two more but again, Robin seems to know that a gun has been fired once more. Bannon surmises that Grayson and Robin cannot be the same person since Grayson is temporarily deaf. Robin apprehends the fixer and hands him over to the authorities. Robin later reveals to Batman that he was able to detect the gunshots by placing his hand on a glass top showcase. The glass would then vibrate each time Bannon fired his gun thus protecting his secret identity.
