Synopsis for "The Living Desert"

In Ecuador a man named Leo receives a call from Mr. Forrest, and is annoyed to learn that the virus he delivered was not to be used until the details were worked out. Forrest reports of how Duke's farm was busted by the feds, and so he shot off the virus sample in a rocket that hit Sutterville, Tennessee. Leo confirms that the next shipment is on its way, admitting his concern, warning Forrest to get his house in order.

Agent Carmen King, meanwhile, using the alias of Tiffany Roberts, finishes a late-night swim at Forrest's spa to find him waiting for her nearby. He admits that she impressed him, and that there is something about her he can't put his finger on. She responds that she wishes he'd been more forthcoming with her on their tour. She feels he's been withholding something from her. He promises to reveal all in time, but he still seeks more commitment from her. She suggests they continue their conversation after she's got some sleep, and he bids her goodnight.

Instead of going to sleep, Carmen hopes to use some alone-time to make a cellphone call that will be all she needs to end her charade, but she has no such luck, as the scientist Cat stops her in the hallway. She makes the excuse that she's looking for a snack, and Cat accompanies her to a cafeteria. Cat promises that while Forrest doesn't fully trust Tiffany yet, she can tell he likes her.

Jared Kabe, meanwhile, is pretending to be a corpse en route to the Rinaldi Spa for disposal. He emerges from his body bag to shove his would-be incinerator into the furnace. The burning man's companion leaps onto Jared, wrestling him to the ground. He gets his hand on the man's knife and guts him. Eileen, another of Forrest's employees find the incinerator door open, and blood on the floor, unsure of what happened. When both of her guards go missing as she investigates, she is faced with Jared and the stolen gun he holds. He warns her to look into his eyes and see that he is perfectly capable of - and willing to - kill her, as he did her four men in the last fifteen minutes. Unfortunately, she won't talk, and he accidentally knocks her unconscious while trying to convince her.

In the halls, he hears people coming and hides in an opened room. Upon turning on the lightswitch, he is surprised to find a massive armoury full of stolen guns. Jared resolves that he'll have to report this information back to Gravedigger as soon as possible. He worries that eventually someone will discover how many people are missing, and things will go crazy. In the hopes of extending his time, he decides to look for the control room after questioning someone in the men's room. After shooting a man in the leg to get the info, he learns the control room's location, and gains access. Once there, though, he realizes that even the monitoring room is being monitored.

Forrest wakes Libby from her sleep, and she identifies Jared as the same man she shot in the head in the hotel earlier. Forrest warns that Jared is not a man, and if he is there, the government won't be far behind. Knowing that the compound has been compromised, he decides to enact their plan earlier than expected. Libby reminds that nearly 700 people will be killed if they leave now, using a nuclear device to destroy the compound while they escape in a plane.

With fifteen minutes to self-destruction, Cat gets the message and warns Tiffany to come with her to catch their flight.
