Star-Spangled War Stories #120 is an issue of the series Star-Spangled War Stories (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 1965.
Synopsis for Suicide Squad: "The Tank Eater!"
The Suicide Squad assigns Morgan and Mace to test out a new prototype tank, and as usual, Morgan gives Mace a hard time because he still blames Mace for his brother's accidental death. Along the way, their plane is attacked by a pterodactyl, leading to the tank being dropped out of the plane accidentally. They deploy the tank's parachute and blast the pterodactyl with the cannons, however the dropping corpse of the prehistoric beast tears their parachute causing them to go crashing down to the surface below.
They are prevented from a fatal fall when they are rescued by the Baby Dino, who flies off when Morgan once more treats it as a hostile. Continuing on their mission they are attacked by a aquatic dinosaur who pulls the tank under water. When they blast the creature Morgan is knocked out and the tank begins to spring a leak, forcing Mace to put breathing gear on both of them and pull Morgan to safety. As he is swimming to the surface he sees the tank land on top of a Japanese sub that is happening by. When Morgan revives he accuses Mace of being a coward and giving their new prototype tank to the enemy.
Deciding to try and track the sub down, they come across a Tyrannosaurus Rex attacking a young cave boy, and they come to the boy's rescue, killing the gigantic beast. When another prehistoric lizard attempts to attack them, they are rescued once again by the Baby Dino. At first Cave Boy fears the Baby Dino, however when the creature saves them from a giant reptile, the primitive begins to consider Dino to be his friend.
They begin tracking the sub's movement, until they are attacked by another pterodactyl and the Baby Dino is forced to drop Morgan, Mace, and Cave Boy, who all safely dive into the water. They dive down and while Morgan and Mace fight off a group of Japanese frogmen, Cave Boy plants an explosive on the sub. They swim away just as the explosive goes off, destroying the sub and the prototype tank. They are rescued from the water by Baby Dino who carries them to safety. However, despite all his efforts Mace has not convinced Morgan of his battle prowess.
