Synopsis for the 1st Story

Somewhere in an asteroid field, Atrocitus is sensing a great rage in one of the asteroids and intends on finding it to power his ring.

Hal Jordan and the Enterprise away team are locked in a battle with Sinestro and the Klingons, as both groups seeks to obtain the Manhunter. Kirk is unable to gain reinforcement from the Enterprise due to the Klingons jamming their sensors. Sinestro and the Klingons are able to capture the Manhunter and takes it on board their ship. Hal attempts to stop Sinestro but he is shot down by Sinestro's ship and his power ring finally loses its power. The Enterprise quickly beam Hal before he fatally falls to the ground.

Back on Earth, John Stewart, Kilowog, and Guy Gardner are summoned by the Admiral of Starfleet in needing of their "unique expertise." Because Starfleet has received an emergency signal from their remote and most secured asteroid station in which it was attacked by Atrocitus. Contact with the base was soon lost after Atrocitus's attack.

On the Enterprise, the crew discuss about Sinestro's plans for the Manhunter and concluding his intentions on unlocking its information to finding this reality's Oa and a chance to recharge his ring. However, Oa is located in the center of the universe in which neither power ring users in their current state or starships wouldn't be able to reach there. Thus Sinestro is more than likely back on Qo'noS studying the Manhunter in order to find a way to Oa. But heading to Qo'noS through Klingon space is too dangerous for Enterprise itself. After relaying the news to Stewart and the other Green Lanterns on the USS Bryant, the crew decide to rendezvous with the Bryant to finally deal with Atrocitus before finding a way to draw out Sinestro.

Meanwhile, Sinestro has recruited the assistance of Larfleeze to examine the Manhunter while also preventing Larfleeze from stealing Saint Walker's ring. Sinestro is intrigue to learn that the Manhunter is an earlier version than the ones he is familiar with in his home reality. Larfleeze eventually use his ring to reactivate the Manhunter.

The Enterprise, while in transit, is suddenly impacted by multiple unidentified objects from its stern. Kirk demands Chekov on what had hit them, but it suddenly turns out that the objects are Manhunters.

John, Guy, and Kilowog finally arrive at the asteroid station. As they enter the facility, they find all the personnel dead and also what appears to be dozens of opened containers. They then realize that the station is not a containment facility, but a prison. They are then soon greeted by the freed prisoners: Augments, led by Khan Noonien Singh, who stands over the unconscious form of Atrocitus and is holding his red power ring.
