Synopsis for the 1st Story
Captain Kirk makes his decision to have the Enterprise to travel to Oa to stop Sinestro. The threat of Sinestro pose to the universe is far more greater than Khan Noonien Singh. With the aid of the Manhunters, the Enterprise travels through a Teleport Gate to the very center of the universe.
On Qo'noS, Khan has overthrown Larfleeze and makes a proposition to the Klingon High Council: join him in exchange for their freedom from Sinestro's rule. To make this alliance more lucrative, Khan is aware of Sinestro's plan after gaining information from Larfleeze, and he wants the Yellow Impurity and use it to destroy the Federation.
On Oa, Sinestro is bonded with the Yellow Impurity and is wrecking havoc, killing Guardians and determining to prevent the rise of the Green Lantern Corps. But before Sinestro could destroy the Central Power Battery, he is struck down by the Enterprise and attack by the Manhunters. The Green Lanterns and Kirk are beam as close as possible to the Battery. The battle, however, is worsen when Klingon warships arrive in orbit and forcing the Enterprise to take evasive actions. The Fear-empowered Sinestro is making short work in destroying the Manhunters without difficulty. Just as Kirk and the Green Lanterns are approaching the Battery, they are attack by Khan.
Somewhere on Oa, a group of Guardians led by Ganthet unleash a prototype Green Power Ring. As Khan literally has Kirk in his grasp, the green ring choose Kirk as its bearer. Kirk has become the first Green Lantern of his native reality. Sinestro joins in the fray and he, Khan, and Kirk are at a standoff.
