Starman #28 is an issue of the series Starman (Volume 1) with a cover date of November, 1990.

Synopsis for "Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite Part Two/A: The End of a Legend?"

Starman arrives at Metropolis, responding to Superman's call for help, and meets professor Emil Hamilton in his lab. Shortly after, Superman arrives and breaks the news that he is now an ordinary, powerless human, and that's the reason he called for his help to restore his powers.[1] With the help of Hamilton's machines, Starman attempts to recharge Superman with his solar energy. But the experiment is unsuccessful, and Hamilton stops them before Superman could get injured by the intense heat.

Superman feels like giving up his superhero career, but Hamilton offers an alternative, showing him a bodysuit armor he developed. Superman likes the idea of using it to confront Luthor, but Starman suggests against it, saying it won't fool him. So, to prevent the word of Superman's weakness to propagate, Starman uses his alteration powers to imitate Superman's features and pose as him to visit Lex Luthor and take the Krimson Kryptonite from him.

Hamilton examines the Kryptonite but finds no traces of radiation on it, returning their investigation to square one. Determined to keep being Superman in spite of his powerlessness, the former man of steel asks for Hamilton to give him the body armor.
