Starro was a telepathic intergalactic conqueror who also resembled a giant starfish. He was instrumental in Lex Luthor's plan to sway humanity to Doom.

History

In preparation for his final debate with Superman over Justice versus Doom, Luthor had Starro implant in every human sunstone geodes. These stones were telepathic and responded to thought. The human race simply had to think "Justice" or "Doom", and the word in majority would activate sunstone shards that would execute the loser of the debate. Humanity was swayed by Luthor's argument despite the latter having actually been changed by Superman's speech, and Superman was killed.

It's unknown what happened to Starro afterward, but considering the resulting chaos spread across the entire universe, the fact that humanity turned on the villains after the heroes, and Omega hunted down his past enemies, his chances of being alive are very slim.
