When Highfather created Takion, Darkseid created Stayne as a mockery.
History
Stayne's purpose was to stop Takion from healing the Source. She chased him throughout the universe, until she finally sensed Takion connecting to the Source. Immediately, Stayne teleported to his location and engaged him in battle. They fell into a populated planet, and, to avoid innocent casualties, Takion took her to the Source Wall. There, Takion finally understood what he had to do to heal the Source: Takion and Stayne had to merge their energy.[1]
