Shawn Kerry's invasion triggers the security protocols at Steelworks, prompting John to become Steel and team up with Natasha to stop it. They are forced to sabotage the system. Shortly after, the despicable corporate figure Charles Walker III gives Shawn Kerry a costume and dubs him Silver Mist. John's relationship with Lana Lang becomes uncertain. The superheroes arrive at Steelworks to speak with John, while Natasha encounters Silver Mist at the base of the building and falls into his trap.
