History

Origin

Stel is an extraterrestrial robot from the planet Grenda who currently serves as a member of the Green Lantern Corps, and is the Green Lantern of Sector 3009. At some point in the past, he was trained by Sinestro.

Sinestro Corps War

When the Sinestro Corps essentially declared open war agains the Green Lantern Corps, Stel was rescued by his partner, Green Man, after members of the the belligerent corps left him for dead. These two were the first Lanterns to come to the defense of Mogo during the conflict. Stel and Green Man later fought against Sinestro Corps forces at Las Vegas when the fight came to Earth, the former expressing a passing interest in the gambling businesses hosted there. He and Green Man both survived the war. It is unknown if he was assigned a new partner after Green Man joined the Alpha Lanterns.

Blackest Night

During the Blackest Night, Stel fought for the Green Lantern Corps, participating in a battle between the Black Lantern Corps and all of the other color spectrum corps. This battle took place in the skies above Coast City. In the aftermath of the Blackest Night, Kilowog appointed Stel as the new Drill Instructor for rookie Green Lanterns while the former took some time off to re-evaluate his place in the Green Lantern Corps. Stel stated that he would do his best, and his appointment by Kilowog was approved by Salakk.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

As a robot he possesses all of the various enhanced attributes:

• Superhuman Strength: As a robot he is superhumanly strong and possesses beyond the human limit.
• Superhuman Speed: As a robot he can run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
• Superhuman Durability: Stel's body is composed of an known metallic substance. This material makes him durable to most attacks.
• Superhuman Stamina: Stel can exert itself well beyond the human limit as long as he has sufficent power.
• Superhuman Agility: Stel's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
• Computer Interface: Stel can communicate and interact with other computer systems.
• Superhuman Intelligence: Stel is capable of rapid analysis of huge amounts of data.
• Audio Sensitivity: Stel can adjust the sensitivity of his audio receptors to a point where he can detect the faintest of sounds.
• Visual Scanners: Stel is capable of scanning life forms, energy sources and other objects detecting the substances that they are composed of.
• Vocal Imitation: Stel is capable of replicating and mimicking the voices of other people enabling him to impersonate them and even create his own.

• Robot Body: Stel may have an extremely resilient body, but it is in no way invulnerable. He has been broken many times before, and can no doubt be broken again.
• Reprogramming: Stel is susceptible to being mechanically reprogrammed as well as controlled.

• Reckless for a robot, he computes the odds of success of a mission and tries to beat them.
• Logical constructs are his specialty, which include reconstructed body parts for himself.
• Unrelenting, even going off-line for a bit has not stopped this Green Lantern from doing his duty.
