- So no matter what I say about my killer supervillain dad and his tights-wearing buddies, it just looks like more tabloid schlock. I've cried "Wolf"! or "Leaked nude selfies"! or "Scandal"! too many times. So now I'm on my own. And the bad guys expect me to just disappear down the memory hole? Spoiler Alert: no damn way.

Stephanie Brown is the vigilante Batgirl, forming one half of the Batgirls with Cassandra Cain. Daughter of the villain Cluemaster, she fought criminals like her father as Spoiler, before a brief stint as Batman's crime-fighting partner Robin. She is a member of the Batman Family and Young Justice.
History
Early Life
Stephanie Brown was born to Crystal Brown and Cluemaster (Arthur Brown). She grew up ignorant of her father's other life. One night she woke up when she heard a loud noise, only to see Batman with his hands on her father's throat. Batman saw her and decided not to take Arthur in. Stephanie convinced herself it was all just a dream.[2] At some point later on in her life, her parents would divorce.

While returning home, Stephanie accidentally walked in on her father and several other men talking about their criminal plans. After she fled for her life, Stephanie decided to make it her mission to "spoil" her father's plans.[3] This lead to her becoming a vigilante and taking the mantle of "Spoiler". She started off by spreading her father's actions via the internet. Eventually she would make her presence known to the criminals by cladding herself in purple garb. She found herself receiving aid from both Barbara Gordon and Selina Kyle [4] .

Batman and Batwoman invited Stephanie, who was then dating Tim Drake, to join their new team of superheroes.[5] As part of this group, Stephanie, along with her fellow vigilantes, fought Jake Cane and the Colony, a secret military group that struck down criminal elements using lethal force. In this conflict, Tim Drake "died".[6]
Shaken by Tim's apparent death, Spoiler rejected Batman's philosophy and struck out on her own.[7] However, she discovered more and more that she used Batman's methods, even when teaming up with Anarky. When Tim returned from Mr. Oz's captivity, she briefly rejoined the Gotham Knights, but left again in the face of Tim's deception and increasing instability, and Clayface's death at Batwoman's hands. When Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong tried to take over Gotham with Brother Eye, Batman and Cassandra Cain asked Steph for help, and she reluctantly returned. Her assistance proved invaluable, as Brother Eye attempted to discourage her by showing her the alternate future from Titans Tomorrow, in which Steph and Cass were both Batgirls, and Steph herself was also Robin.[8] Using this timeline, Steph convinced the OMAC-controlled Tim to help defeat Armstrong and Brother Eye. Afterwards, she joined Tim on a quest to explore the consequences of that alternate timeline.[9]
Young Justice
Two days after their departure from Gotham City and during a visit at the Hall of Justice, Steph found out that Tim had a whole life and existence that they both didn't remembered, with Tim later leaving to Metropolis in order to discover what happened to the original Young Justice team.[10]
After Tim reformed Young Justice, Spoiler joined with a roster of backup members in order to rescue Conner Kent in an assault on S.T.A.R. Labs.[11] The team eventually managed to rescue Kon and arrest Dr. Glory.[12] Stephanie later called Tim and the two teamed up to find Cluemaster, who ended up surviving his slashed throat. After the two shut down Cluemaster, Tim abandoned the Drake identity he had recently acquired, returning to being Robin.[13]
Infinite Frontier
The Batgirls
Stephanie started adopt the Batgirl mantle along with Cassandra Cain while being guided by Oracle, the two investigated the place where Batman, Harley Quinn and Clownhunter were kidnapped by Ghost-Maker, they found the Arkham written with plants, which indicated where the villain took them.[14]
Both Steph and Cass were playing a video game on Wayne Manor when they got a call from Oracle, who told them to go investigate an old waterfront convention center. The two Batgirls found a woman that Steph briefly fought until she learned from her that she was actually investigating the murder of a game programmer and that the Batgirls needed to help serve justice as the cops wouldn't, the woman then left them a red card before leaving.[15]
Fear State
As the Magistrate began to take over the airwaves of Gotham, the Batgirls were with Barbara at the Gotham Clock Tower, Oracle sent a message via the Gotham City Emergency Broadcast System but the systems were hacked and it instead sent a message of fear to the city, claiming that Batman was dead.[16] Batman later arrived at the Clock Tower after a fight with Scarecrow and the three of them explained their current situation to him.[17]
As Barbara lost visuals and audio communication, she urged Steph to go to Cassandra's location. Steph found Cass fighting many Magistrate soldiers and aided her on the fight. As they fought a mysterious individual hacked Oracle's communication and talked to Batgirl, Steph told Cass that Oracle was compromised and the two Batgirls escaped into the sewers, with Steph breaking her communicator.[18] After arriving back at the Clock Tower, the Batgirls saw that Barbara had already left after being hacked by Seer, Simon Saint later informed to the people that the Batgirls were terrorist, which resulted on the Magistrate soldiers going after them and blowing up the Clock Tower, though both Steph and Cass managed to escape beforehand.[19]
The two met up with Barbara, Nightwing and Robin, they all stole some armor from the Magistrate soldiers to fly with their jetpacks to Skybase-01 to face Seer, instead they had to rescue some kidnapped children that were at the ship that was about to crash.[20] Steph and Cass later stayed at the Holmes hotel while Barbara tried to figure who or what Seer was and to find them a loft to move into, Babs eventually took Cass and Steph to their new warehouse loft, all while being watched by Seer.[21]
