Stephen Hickman (b. April 9, 1949 – d.July 16, 2021) was a comic book artist.
Professional History
Stephen Hickman was primarily a science fiction and fantasy book cover artist. During the 1970s, Neal Adams introduced him to the art editor of Ace Books, who in turn hired him to illustrate several of their paperback covers. It is estimated he painted over 400 book covers. He also illustrated a handful of magazine and comic covers for DC and Marvel. In 1988, he wrote and illustrated his own novel, The Lemurian Stone.
Personal History
Stephen Hickman attended art school for two years at the Richmond Professional Institute (Virginia Commonwealth University) sharing classes with Mike Kaluta, Phil Trumbo and Charles Vess.
