Steve Trevor is a commercial pilot, a retired colonel in the United States Air Force.

Born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, Steve is the son of Ulysses Trevor and Diana Rockwell. He lost his mother when he was 7; while test piloting an experimental jet, she was lost over the Mediterranean Sea. In reality, she had washed ashore on Themyscira, and helped in the defense of Doom's Doorway at the expense of her life. Queen Hippolyta named her own daughter Princess Diana after the outsider hero.

Ares manipulated General Sam Tolliver to send Colonel Trevor to bomb Themyscira and as he was nearing the island, he realised that by doing so, he would kill many innocents. His co-pilot, who was possessed by Ares too, fought him forcing the plane down. Diana, seeing the plane go down, dove in the sea and saved him. She brought him back to the shores of Themyscira, and there she recognized the insignia on his jacket and she decided from there on that she was to fight against Ares.

Eventually, an argument with his superior made him decide to retire. He set up a private aviation firm, and eventually married Etta Candy, his former aide.

Flashpoint

Flashpoint Vol 2 1 Textless
Flash DC Logo

This section of the history takes place during Flashpoint, a massive crossover event set in an alternate timeline to the mainstream DCU. History was completely changed when Professor Zoom finally found a way to erase his nemesis the Flash without harming his own legacy.

In an effort to save his mother's life from the Reverse-Flash, Barry Allen unknowingly changes reality, creating a new world in which his friends' lives are drastically different.

In this timeline Steve Trevor has never had a relationship with Wonder Woman, instead it appears that he is in love with Lois Lane.[1] Steve Trevor works in London where he is waiting to meet with Lois Lane but is attacked by Wonder Woman and her Amazon troops. Wonder Woman catches him by the neck with the Lasso of Truth and interrogates him after he is temporarily able to resist the lasso's effects.

He informs the Amazon Queen that he was hired to meet the leader of the resistance Lois Lane to extract her from New Themyscira because she has important tactical information for Cyborg who's massing an army to stop the fighting between the Amazons and Atlanteans.
