Steve Lombard was a former NFL quarterback turned sportscaster for the Galaxy Broadcasting System and often worked alongside famed news anchors, Clark Kent and Lana Lang.
History
A happy-go-lucky individual, Steve often referred to Clark Kent by the unflattering nickname "Clarkie", and took great pleasure in taking advantage of Clark's presumed clumsiness. Occasionally, Clark would avenge himself against Steve's pranks with a well-placed blast of heat-vision.
Steve Lombard's aunt (his mother's sister) is the mystery novelist Kaye Daye.
