Synopsis for "Change or Die: 1 of 3"

Jenny Sparks is attacked on a public street by a black hooded man, Blind. Blind throws several needles into Jenny, in which one incapacitate her powers and the others are poisoned. Blind then leaves the scene after saying, "we're sorry." However, Jenny is able to remove the needles before demanding a transfer to Skywatch.

Meanwhile on Skywatch, Christine scans Sam Fleisig's memories and finds the rogue activator who turned Fleisig superhuman.

Henry Bendix briefs Stormwatch Prime about a superhuman called "The High". His first recorded activities began in 1938 in which he physically dealt with ne'er-do-wells such as corrupt landlords, Nazi Bunds, and munition tycoons, and as well averting a few natural disasters. His existence was dismissed as an urban myth. But Stormwatch knows this isn't true. The High came from a parallel Earth and landed on our Earth in 1910, and was adopted and raised a human. After three years of activity in America, The High apparently vanished and only resurfacing in times of political unrest. For the past ten years, he remained sitting on a throne made of rock on top of the Rocky Mountains, utterly unmoving. Until ten days ago he vanished from his seat. Bendix assumes that the High is preparing to take some kind of action against society, in which he has the Watch Hall conducting a constant lookout for him. When he is found, Bendix will send Stormwatch Prime in to secure him, or kill him if the situation worsens. He also orders Prime not to speak any of this to anyone, especially Jenny Sparks.

In Paraguay, Malcolm King, the former Stormwatch member known as Strafe that has gone mad, is granted an audience with The High and several superhumans, the Changers, he had gathered, and is willing to give them all the information he knows about Stormwatch, the only group that could prove to be an obstacle to The High's group. However, The High doesn't trust Malcolm in which he fears that he is a Stormwatch plant whose mind is possibly compromised by the Weatherman. To ensure Malcolm's veracity, the group has him go through a rigorous interrogation with Blind. They also deactivated Malcolm's powers by their member Wish. After Blind left with Malcolm, the Changers began their plan to change the world in their own way.

The Engineer, a man who augmented his own body with nanotechnology, plants a nanotech oasis in a radioactive Nevadan desert that makes anything for nothing. Smoke, a man who believes evil can only be killed and cannot be rehabilitated, eliminates an African dictator. The Eidolon, a human who was not allowed to fully die and has walked the regions between, informs a Christian rally in Germany that there is no God; humanity needs to believe in themselves. The Eidolon is tasked to punish those who would make life hell.

Meanwhile, the Changers' activities are being observed by Bendix and Rose Tattoo. Bendix asks Rose, who is a former Changer, how they can be stopped. She simply answers, "kill them all."
