Synopsis for the 1st Story

Aboard Skywatch III, Jackson visits Winter to talk about the incident in what used to be Romania. Winter is very unhappy about what King did and he blames what he perceives as not just the annihilation of the Night Tribes, but also hundreds of innocent people who were probably caught in the blast. Furthermore, Winter reminds King that he channeled the power of the sun that he could have cauterized the entire planet. King stands firmly by his decision in which Winter only questions his superior's decisions in regards to lives caught in their missions. This provokes King to assault Winter and tell him to leave if he does not like the choices he makes.

In Norway, Team Omega rounds up some refugees to teleport back to the station. But before they leave, Deathblow senses something is out of place. Unable to find anything, the team teleports away with the hostages. Shortly after, a tarp buried in the snow uncovers bodies of several people who have been executed.

At his secret lair in the Rocky Mountains, The High emerges from the egg-shaped vessel labeled "The Purple Haze". After exiting, Cumberland is bleeding from the fall he took out of the vessel and as well feeling the cold. He then walks over to a row of his robot duplicates called Highpernauts. He activates Highpernaut One and has it give him a run down of the Purple Haze's effects that changed his physiology. The Purple Haze is a Bleedscape, non-sentient metagenic variform that has rendered Cumberland powerless and he is now practically a human being. The Highpernaut also explains that the effects are reversible but only within ten days following initial exposure; Cumberland will die if he does not reverse his condition soon. Cumberland tells the Highpernaut that if he does not return it is to seal off the mountain and incinerate everything so his technology won't fall into the wrong hands. With that, The High leaves in a helicopter from his collection of vehicles.

In Link's lab, Hellstrike carries on a conversation with Fuji whose suit has completely encased him in an oval-shaped structure. As Link and Hellstrike Fuji's condition they segue into discussing King's actions of late. They disagree with King's unethical actions and as Winter enters, he lets them both know that he agrees with them and asks what they are all going to do about it.

Christine and King are on the bridge when one of the technicians detects a communication signal coming from inside Skywatch. The refugees Team Omega brought in earlier have positioned themselves throughout the station, have killed some Stormwatch personnel, and have explosives strapped to their bodies. As the suicide bombers simultaneously detonate their explosives, they shout, "For the power! For the glory! For Khera!" Explosions rippled across the station, blowing up its hull and sending many people floating into space.
