Synopsis for "Run"
Khalid Tefibi wakes up in the morning from his small NYC apartment and eats breakfast until federal agents from the Civil Defense Administration breaks in and arrests Tefibi. They failed to confiscate Tefibi's computer data as Tefibi had set up a system to fry and render them useless. After they checked Tefibi's body to be cleaned of a GPS transmitter or any devices, they bring him to an undisclosed location and informed him that by Presidential Decree he is declared an "unlawful enemy combatant" and have been remanded to the custody of the CDA for indefinite containment.
Tefibi is physically interrogated by his CDA handlers for information about Stormwatch in which he refuses to answer except insulting them. Realizing that torturing Tefibi will not work, they stopped at the command of their boss, Director Ivana Baiul. She reveals to her men that she knows about Tefibi, whom she (under a false name) hired to hack the Pentagon's systems and destroy all personnel and financial records for several of their "black bag" projects at the request of International Operations. He was subsequently arrested and sentenced for three years in Pelican Bay State Prison after he failed in court to claim the I.O. agent (Baiul) tricked him to hack the Pentagon under the guise of a computer security system check.
Baiul then gloats to Tefibi that Santini will never come after her for her role in the U.N. attack since she is the Director of the CDA with full protection by the U.S. government. She then continues Tefibi's interrogation and demands Santini's long-term plan for Stormwatch. But Tefibi still remains defiant in which he spits in Baiul's face. Infuriated, Baiul sends in the "Brainsucker": a post-human telepath named Doug Carlye who uses his tentacles to read Tefibi's mind. Unfortunately Carlye discovers Tefibi's mind is protected by a telepathic trap set up by Avi Barak without Tefibi's knowledge. Then without warning Carlye grabs an CDA agent's pistol and guns down Baiul and the other agents. Carlye is possessed by a small recorded "subconsciousness subroutine" that was planted by Barak. The possessed Carlye frees Tefibi before shooting himself in the head. Baiul then suddenly rises up and reveals to be a robot duplicate. Tefibi guns down the duplicate before fleeing the facility and finding himself in Washington, D.C.
But Tefibi is confronted by the Civil Defense Squadron, Baiul's superhuman team. But the CDS gets distracted when they bicker over their codenames, and allow Tefibi to slip away. The CDS then notice his escape and try to catch him, but Barak's psychic imprint is still present in Tefibi in which his recorded subconsciousness possessed one of the superhumans and making him to attack his comrades. Tefibi is finally brought back to Stormwatch HQ via Project Entry.
