Notes
- "Puzzle Planet": The story mentions Mato Grosso as part of the Amazon Rainforest; actually, that is true, but only for the northwest part of that Brazilian state. When the story, published in 1954, presents the theory that the canals on Mars would be just optical illusions, the end of the story is correct with what is known today by the science: There are no natural canals on Mars like the rivers on Earth. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, some astronomers believed they saw artificial canals on Mars, but these observations were later debunked. What were thought to be canals were actually optical illusions or natural geological formations. However, the story implies that dinosaurs are living in an unexplored part of Mato Grosso, which falls more into the realm of B-movie fiction.
- "Earthman -- Copyright 1954": The story implies that the first manned flight to the Moon was made by John Carmody on June 9, 1969, that the United States built a space fort there a year later, and that man set foot on Mars in 1990. In the Real World the first manned flight to the Moon was carried out in 1969 and there have been no manned flights to Mars to date.
