Synopsis for "Invaders From the Ice World"

Two Iowan boys build snowmen during an unseasonal snowfall, only to discover their creations missing the next morning. During the night, the snowmen had been possessed by energy beings from the planet Pluto and were now wreaking havoc in preparation for full-scale invasion. Darwin Jones of the DSI soon arrives on the scene and after a number of unsuccessful attempts to destroy the snowmen with heat, realizes that their paradoxical weakness is extreme cold. Earth is saved!

Synopsis for "Around the Universe in 1 Billion Years"

A group of ancient humans are awakened from cryogenic sleep by automatic processes on their craft. To their horror, they find that their circumnavigation of the universe had taken them not 500 but one billion years. Returning to their home planet - Earth - they make contact with the comparatively primitive humans of today and tell of the Magno-X comet that once ruined their civilization. It is at this point that the Magno-X comet returns. The spacemen, having faced the comet before, sacrifice themselves in order to destroy it with an incredibly explosive tablet. Earth is saved!

Synopsis for "A Switch In Time"

While sleeping one night, Mark Robins is contacted through his television by John XX-99, a man from the far future. Mark requires proof of this, and receives stock tips that allow him to repay money that he has appropriated from his bank job. Consumed with greed, he agrees to switch places with John XX-99 for 24 hours and spends this time in the future frantically absorbing information that will give him a financial edge in his own time. A the end of the 24 hours, however, he learns just why John wanted the exchange in the first place: Earth is a blasted wasteland with only a single human inhabitant. Mark, presumably, is stranded forever.

Synopsis for "The Living Automobile"

One day while working in his shop, garage mechanic Joe Morris receives a mental call for help. He follows the call to its source but finds only an unusual foreign-looking car. Unable to locate its owner through newspaper ads, he takes the auto out for a test drive, only to find himself helpless to control it. The car drives Joe through a military rocket base and later to an atomic testing range, after which it reveals itself as a spy for aliens from the planet Venus, there to scout out Earth's atomic capabilities. The car is stopped at a road block because Joe has neglected to pay a bridge toll but before the humans can take any action against it it transforms into a robot, declares that it is convinced that Earth is not planning to launch an atomic attack on Venus and flies off into space.
