Strata, a silicon based lifeform originating from the planet Dryad. The species are also call Dryad and are a peaceful humanoid rock-like people with great strength and durability compared with other lifeforms. Strata is a founding and core member of the Licensed Extra-Governmental Interstellar Operatives Network, better known as L.E.G.I.O.N..

Strata was kidnapped from her home planet by the Dominators and spent much of her life as a slave. At one point she was housed in the Starlag prison along with various other lifeforms as part of the Dominators' Invasion of Earth.

Strata befriended some other prisoners such Vril Dox and the Durlan. Along with Lyrissa Mallor, Garryn Bek and Stealth, she helped to defeat the Dominators.

After their victory, the group went with Vril Dox II to his home planet of Colu. They were successful in shutting down Computer Tyrants who had conquered his people. But without the Computer Tyrants to guide it, Coluans society practically self-destructed.

Vril Dox II became a messiah to his people, which gave him the idea to form a new police force to replace the former Green Lantern Corps. The others were hesitant to join, but ultimately decided that it might be a good idea to stick around, to keep an eye on Vril Dox II.

The band then journeyed to the planet Cairn to take out it's ruling drug lord Kanis-Biz, then they turned the entire police force into the group called L.E.G.I.O.N..

Strata joined the interplanetary police force and has since become one of the most devoted members of the team. In time, she met and fell in love with fellow Dryad, Garv. The two married and are living happily together. She is also a member of the interstellar police force, InterC.E.P.T.

Powers

  • Dryad Physiology: Strata's rock-like body gives her superhuman strength and durability.
    • Superhuman Strength: She is many times stronger than a normal human being, although his strength level is unknown.
    • Superhuman Durability: She is far more durable than a normal human, and can probably withstand impacts and pressures that could severely injure or kill a human with no discomfort.
    • Energy Resistance: She is immune to telepathic attack or possession.
    • Energy Absorption: She is apparently able to absorb energy attacks with no side effects.

  • Strata was one of the minor heroes the Great Carlini believed to be expendable that was sent to try and save the Lobo series from becoming too violent. She was killed by Lobo, along with several other characters pulled from Comic Limbo, in a barroom brawl.[1] Due to the highly meta nature of the storyline and the fact almost all of the deceased characters appeared again in mainstream continuity, these deaths do not appear to be canon. Strata appeared alive again during Infinite Crisis[2], and in R.E.B.E.L.S.[3]
  • Strata is also known as Leather Rose.
