The Strike Force is comprised of a group of mercenaries, each identified only by a number.
History
The group is supplied with the latest in weaponry and technology and operates in the criminal underworld. Originally organized by Arthur Pemberton, he used the Pemberton fortune to finance the operation. They quickly ran afoul of Star-Spangled Kid and Wildcat and were jailed. Some time later, a new man replaced Arthur as Number One and led the group in criminal activities where super-heroes would not be involved. The Strike Force was successful for some time until the group encountered the Power Company. Defeated, the members were sent to prison.
Later, Pemberton regained control of the Strike Force and engaged the Justice Society All-Stars. Pemberton captured Stargirl and sacrificed the remaining members to ensure his escape.
