Synopsis for "Deathzone!"

After Deadshot killed The Incubus's mortal host, the Nightshade Dimension has been dissolved into chaos. Nightshade creates a tunnel to allow the Suicide Squad to escape to a random location. As they leave the Nightshade Dimension, they found themselves in a more stranger realm, the Zero-Zone. Nightshade loses consciousness from absorbing The Succubus that once possessed June Moone. The Squad are soon beset by the Zonal Monsters before being help by Shade, the Changing Man. After Shade learns how the Squad came to this realm, he reads Nightshade's vibrational frequency to teleport the Squad and himself to Earth.

In Belle Reve, Amanda Waller is in a dilemma of being blackmailed by Senator Joseph Cray to help him win his re-election with the Squad after Derek Tolliver threatened to publicly expose the Squad. But Waller swears that she will find a way to get back at Tolliver. The Squad and Shade appears in Belle Reve. Waller correctly assume that the Squad's mission was not a "howling success" and have Nightshade in the infirmary. After being debriefed of the mission, Waller wants to know more about Shade.

Shade explains to Waller and the Squad about himself, the Meta-Zone, how he was framed for murder and treason, and used his M-Vest to find the perpetrators before finding himself stranded in the Zero-Zone after fighting alongside Earth's heroes in a great battle. Since now he is on Earth, Shade can resume his mission in stopping a rogue Metan renegade, Dr. Z.Z., from conquering Earth and later Meta. Waller comes into a agreement with Shade to capture Dr. Z.Z.

The Squad and Shade raid Dr. Z.Z.'s outpost, the Occult Research Center. Dr. Z.Z. is fatally shot by Rick Flag and the rest of his followers are defeated. Despite foiling Dr. Z.Z.'s plot, Shade is still wanted by Meta authorities as Wizor demands to take him into custody.
