Amanda Waller is in a special senate subcommittee investigation. The White House refuses to acknowledge the Task Force X and the Suicide Squad. The Committee acknowledges the death of Senator Joe Cray and Derek Tolliver who were allegedly killed by Suicide Squad members.

The previous day, the Suicide Squad was sent to a mission so she won't disclose their location for the sake of national security. Nemesis quits on the spot. After an argument where she tries to threaten Nemesis, Amanda Waller briefs the Suicide Squad.

In a small African Nation named Ogaden, a civil war is raging during a drought. The country used to be run by he Renamo family and they were overthrown by a General Frelimo. The mission is to rescue Sister Agnes Martinon, a leader in getting getting aid for the civilians, from the Renamo's forces. Both sides dislike the the nun so there will be no help from government forces. Father Craemer will go on the mission to go as well to make sure she will come. A publicly known rescue of a foreign aid prisoner will give credit to the Suicide Squad and Amanda Waller if this mission is successful.

After leaving the briefing, Amanda Waller talks with Flo and Oracle. Waller distrusts Oracle and decides to have Flo leave a computer virus to infect Oracle if she decides to contact them.

Doctor LaGrieve has been following Amanda Waller around since the briefing and when she finally has quiet time, he reveals he is leaving the Suicide Squad. She tries to threaten him to stay. Due to her recent troubles, he knows she has no time to follow up on threats and reveals that Marnie Herrs quit already. She accepts that she can't deal with him.

The time goes back to the investigation and the mission. Vixen knows Swahili and can talk with the locals. They point to where Sister Martinon is being held by the Renamos. The squad finds the area has already been attacked and Sister Martinon's body is missing from the wreckage. The team gets attacked(unclear if this is Renamos or government force) and after the battle, Vixen finds out the government took her 2 days ago. They said nothing the last few days so she is still in danger due to the lack of government statement and the knowledge of their dislike of her. They decide to rescue her from the government forces.
