The Summerholt Neurological Institute is a research facility in Metropolis, devoted to neurological research.

History

Officially, the institute did not admit patients. However, the institute kept Ryan James captive in secret, to study his telepathic ability. While Dr. Lawrence Grady experimented on his son, Kevin Grady. Furthermore, child prodigy Molly Griggs was briefly treated at the institute, following a psychotic break.

A strong focus for the institute was memory. Researchers developed several technologies to erase memories and to uncover suppressed memories.

• The Summerholt Institute used to be exclusive to the continuity of the Smallville television series. However, it was mentioned in the The Flash TV series.
