Synopsis for "Terror At 20,000 Fathoms"

Captain Nimoy builds an android copy of Batman to help him acquire three nuclear missiles that he planes to use to sink the continents and flood them forming a new kingdom he will rule. Meanwhile, Superman leaves to meet Wonder Woman after Gleek messes around with the bottled city of Kandor. Nimoy's plans are delayed then his computer discovers that the addition of Kryptonite is needed.

Captain Nimoy demands the United Nations turn over all the world's Kryptonite in an hour and blows up part of the North Pole as a warning. Aquaman spots the launch of the missile and confronts Captain Nimoy but is quickly captured. Captain Nimoy is informed at the end of the hour that the Superfriends gathered up all the Kryptonite long ago and only they know where it is.

Captain Nimoy uses the android Batman to trick Aquaman into revealing where the Kryptonite is and sends the android to the Fortress of Solitude. Captain Nimoy puts Batman, Robin, and Aquaman into torpedo and launches them but Aquaman's is able to save them.

The android is quickly discovered and defeated by the Wonder Twins who are in turn captured by Captain Nimoy. In their holding cell they realize that they can radio the Fortress of Solitude can have Gleek alert Kandor to the danger. Four of the Kandorians stop Captain Nimoy and help the Superfriends capture him.

  • The target of the first missile was 88 degrees north 120 degrees west.
  • The targets of the other two missiles was the continental shelves of Japan and North America.
  • Superman remarks that he must meet Wonder Woman at Saturn in 10 minutes, at their closest it takes light about 1.11 hours to cover the distance between Earth and Saturn.
  • The design of Captain Nimoy's ships is very similar to that of the Nautilus in Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
