Synopsis for "The Giants of Doom"

Bizarro presents an idea to turn the Legion of Doom into 100 foot giants using three elements (Sorium, Robalt, and Introdium) and the Justice League computer.

Bizarro already has the Sorium so he and Sinestro get the Robalt (at the center of Earth's moon) by cutting it in half ("Destroy moon small price to pay for vital mineral") Superman welds the moon back together and captures Bizarro and Sinestro.

Toyman and Captain Cold freeze the Parthenon so they can mine the site for the Introdium and are captured by Green Lantern.

It turns out their capture was part of Bizarro's plan and a time delay in Sinestro's ring brainwashes Green Lantern to leave while the rest of the Legion keeps the other Superfriends busy. Now 100 foot giants the four Legion of Doom members freeze the Superfriends and send them to Saturn via giant slingshot.

Escaping from Saturn Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern and use the remains of the elements Bizarro left behind and turn themselves into giants and quickly defeat Bizarro, Toyman, Captain Cold, and Sinestro.

Notes

Bloopers & Inconsistencies

Even in a fictitious reality that accepts the notion of super-powered individuals, this episode still demonstrates several logistical improbabilities.

  • Hal defeats Sinestro by putting him in a giant energy bottle. But a plot point throughout the series is that Hal's ring won't effect anything yellow...and Sinestro still has his yellow power ring.
  • Superman imprisons Bizzaro in the Lincoln Memorial...which Bizzaro should be able to escape from easily.
  • Bizarro's ray will cause the recipients to grow to 100 feet tall, which he describes as twice Giganta's size, putting Giganta's maximum height at 50 feet. But in the opening to each show, where Apache Chief chases Giganta around a city, they are both shown to be taller than eight- or nine-story buildings, which would not only make them taller than merely 50 feet, it would make them taller than the 100 feet Bizarro's giants are. In fact, Apache Chief must enlist the help of the Atom to grow more then 50 feet tall in The Man in the Moon.

Other
