Synopsis for "The Rise and Fall of the Super Friends"

Two scientists and their giant robot are captured by robot gangsters of the Mxyzptlk gang. Superman defeats them and Mxyzptlk appears telling him that he is making a film and later reveals that the Superfriends will be his stars.

Mxyzptlk lures Superman to the soon to be demolished Jefferson Department Store and uses mannequins (including one of Lois Lane with a kryptonite wedding ring) to capture Superman. Mxyzptlk then teleports Batman and Robin via a phone booth to the Gotham City Library where they are attacked by Frankenstein's monster and captured (literally) on film. Mxyzptlk then takes over Gleek to inform Wonder Woman and Aquaman of his next location; the city junkyard. There they are attacked by a giant junk monster and absorbed into a boom mike.

The Superfriends are then teleported to a haunted house where they are blown into their dressing rooms where they "face incredible dangers". Mxyzptlk then turns the Superfriends into vikings and forces them to act out his script where they fight each other. Superman is able to use his heat vision to change the last word in his script to Kltpzyxm and tricks Mxyzptlk into saying it returning everything to normal.

Notes

  • Mxyzptlk leaves movie scripts at each location of his film.
  • Mxyzptlk's name is pronounced "Mix-a-flick" and his name backwards is pronounced "Kliplskim" in this episode.

Trivia

  • The junkyard is the only place where we the viewer actually get to read some of Mxyzptlk's script.
